Furzey Gardens is a beautiful secret garden nestled deep in the New Forest.

Our 12 acre garden is full of rare plants, winding paths to explore, a cosy thatched tea room and over 40 fairy doors to find.

We are also a social enterprise which provides training and work experience for people with learning disabilities.

Tea Rooms:  9.30am - 3.30pm

Gardens: 9am - 3.30pm

Garden gates locked 30 minutes after closing.

Gardens open seven days a week until 24 December. 

Closed 25 December to 14 February.

Suggested ticket donations and booking

Entrance is by suggested donation. To visit the gardens this year all visitors are recommended to pre-book their visit online prior to visiting, which helps us to manage our capacity, staffing and also our car park.

Your visit will support our work with people with learning disabilities who help to maintain the gardens. If you wish to pay an alternative donation to enter Furzey Gardens you may do so at the the entrance gate.

Furzey Gardens Members have free access to the gardens, during our opening times, throughout the year. Visit three times and you will already have covered your membership donation – join here.

Current offers

Two for one entry for RHS members, BBC Gardeners World Magazine card holders, Guests of New Forest Hotels, Go New Forest Card and My VIP card. These offers apply to entrance on a Monday – Thursday only.

Do I need to pre-book my tickets online?

Due to limited car parking we are asking all visitors, including members, to pre-book their visits to help us manage our staffing, capacity and car park.

Afternoons at Furzey Gardens are generally quieter however during public holidays and summer weekends, if you have chosen to not to pre-book online we may be at full capacity and therefore cannot allow entry.

When can I visit the gardens

You can visit Furzey Gardens during our standard opening hours. Outside these times the gates to the gardens will be locked and there will be no public admission to the gardens unless by prior arrangement.

There are paper maps available when you arrive at Furzey Gardens as well as a large map to view at the entrance. You can also view a map online to see what the gardens offer.

Accessibility at Furzey Gardens

Furzey Gardens is on a hill and the informal woodland paths and gradients mean that parts of that the garden are not wheelchair accessible

Our informal garden paths are narrow, twisting, steep in places and can be slippery. We do have an easier path route if you have difficulty walking or use a mobility device. However even this route will not be suitable for some wheelchair users or some with mobility issues and requires the utmost care by all users.

We are nestled in the heart of the New Forest where there are free roaming animals so please drive carefully and pass around them slow and wide, for more information please see the New Forest Code.

Parking

There is limited parking available at Furzey Gardens. We do not own the car park adjacent to the gardens but are grateful that it can be used for our visitors. However, during school holidays the car park can quickly become full and parking is not available in the immediate vicinity due to narrow lanes, farm access and out of consideration for our neighbours. Please follow the one way signs in the car park.

Refreshments and toilets

Our cosy thatched tea rooms serve light lunches, cakes and a selection of hot and cold drinks. Check our opening times before you visit.

The tea rooms provide training and work experience for people with learning disabilities. Your custom supports this work and helps people with learning disabilities thrive.

Toilets are available for visitors to use when the tea rooms are open.

Are dogs allowed at Furzey Gardens?

Sadly only assistance dogs are allowed to come into the gardens during the summer months.

Dogs allowed in gardens during winter months

From 1 November – 31 March, we will be allowing dogs into Furzey Gardens during our quieter months. Dog owners are kindly requested to clear up after their dog, using the bins provided. Dog waste bins are are located near the entrance. Dogs should be kept on a short lead at all times, no extendable leads. Badly behaved dogs and their owners will be asked to leave should we feel it necessary. Dogs are not allowed in the tea rooms.
