For garden lovers
Originally planted in the early 1920s, Furzey Gardens is home to rare and beautiful plants.
Our beautiful collection of plants including camellias, rhododendron, azalea and cornus were sourced from far-flung regions such as India, China and Tibet by daring plant hunters of the early 20th Century.
First opened to the public in the 1930’s, many of these historic specimens still thrive today, such as the striking Rhododendron Macabeanum and Erica x darleyensis ‘Furzey’, recognised worldwide as one of the best winter-flowering heathers.
The garden is also home to rare varieties like Narcissus ‘Bartley’ and Primula pulverulenta ‘Bartley’.
Furzey Gardens continues to captivate visitors with dazzing spring displays of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, and magnolias. More recent planting has ensured there is plenty to enjoy throughout the year such as the stunning autumn foliage from Maples, Liquidambar, and Sorbus, ensuring year-round beauty.
