Accessibility at Furzey Gardens

Furzey Gardens is on a hill and the informal woodland paths and gradients mean that parts of that the garden are not wheelchair accessible

Our informal garden paths are narrow, twisting, steep in places and can be slippery. We do have an easier path route if you have difficulty walking or use a mobility device. However even this route will not be suitable for some wheelchair users or some with mobility issues and requires the utmost care by all users.

However, during school holidays the car park can quickly become full and parking is not available in the immediate vicinity due to narrow lanes, farm access and out of consideration for our neighbours. Please follow the one way signs in the car park.

Information about plants in our collection

The collection at Furzey Gardens contains a wide range of plants and shrubs originally sourced from places such as India, China and Tibet by daring plant hunters of the early 20th Century. Since then the collection has grown to include many more species and in particular drought tolerant bedding and border plants alongside those original plantings from the 1930s. Find out more in our garden lovers section.

Please wash your hands after touching plants. Many plants in our collection are potentially harmful to people. Whilst they remain safe to grow some plants may cause skin irritation or stomach upset. Please get in touch  if you have any concerns, furzey.manager@furzey-gardens.org
