The Nursery Renewal Project

Furzey's much-loved plant nursery needs your help!

Please help the supported gardening team to renew the nursery after a tricky few years.

Worn out tools and equipment mean everyday tasks have become harder, and not as accessible to all. Our plant range has also slowly dwindled.

But today, you could help change this.

You can provide the tools and plants they need to make the nursery more productive and more inclusive.

You’ll ensure people can continue to build their skills, while raising more plants for you to buy in Furzey Gardens Plant Sales.

Thank you!

The difference you will make

£3,000 will support diversifying our nursery’s plant collection

With a wider, more resilient and inspiring range of species, we could create richer learning and propagation opportunities for Gemma and others in the supported gardening team.

£3,000 to replace and improve essential tools.

Investing in equipment that suits everyone’s needs means a more accessible, enjoyable and independent experience for the team.

Today, you could support the future of the nursery, and ensure they have the plants and tools they need.

£10 could pay for seed packets

£25 could go towards new trowels

£50 could pay towards spades with sturdy handles.

Every donation helps us towards a nursery that is reinvigorated and works for everyone.

Any funds raised beyond our £6,000 target will go towards ongoing Nursery costs.

The nursery team at Furzey know what helps them do their work well. We sat down together and asked them exactly how £6,000 would benefit the nursery.A

Here’s what Kevin and Emily said:

Tom's Story

Tom is incredibly passionate about his work at Furzey Nursery, and even takes his skills home, looking after an allotment.

Tom is autistic, and describes Furzey Nursery as a peaceful, relaxing and safe space to be.

Without tools, and seeds, Tom can’t keep learning new skills and nurturing those he already has.

Tom preferred that we didn’t use his photo, but his story is still a wonderful read.

How we produced this fundraiser

This fundraiser was developed alongside the nursery team, including people with learning disabilities and their instructors. The priorities, quotes and fundraising messages come directly from conversations and planning sessions held in the nursery, reflecting what the team said matters most.
