Behind the scenes
Jurassic Furzey isn’t just about dinosaurs – it’s about people. Behind the scenes of this exciting trail, the real magic comes from the incredible people we support at Minstead Trust.
Jurassic Furzey is more than just a fun adventure—it’s a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the incredible skills of the people we support at Minstead Trust.
Every dinosaur and egg you see started its journey in our workshop, where our talented team worked together to bring these prehistoric creatures to life.
From the very start, this project was shaped by their ideas—including the name Jurassic Furzey, which they came up with themselves.

From sketch to scale: How the Dinos were made
Step 1: The big idea
Our workshop team came up with ideas and designs, thinking about size, shape, and how each dinosaur would fit into the landscape of Furzey Gardens.
Step 2: Cutting and building
The team carefully cut and constructed the dinosaurs, ensuring they were strong and ready for the elements.
Step 3: Decorating the dinosaurs
Not only did local artists bring their designs to life, but the people we support also helped paint and decorate some of the dinosaurs, adding their creative touches to the trail. Each ‘warning’ sign you see along the trail was also created by the workshop team.
