Discover the history of our 16th Century thatched cottage

Step back in time as you take a peek inside our ancient cottage and imagine what life was like as families lived their lives in this quintessentially English cottage.

Furzey Cottage, built around 1560, is rich in history, with beams made from ancient ship timbers from Tudor boatyards and floorboards once part of ship decking.

During renovations, 1860 Mormon newsprint from Salt Lake City was discovered lining the ceilings.

Visitors can explore the cottage, see its original fireback and bread oven.

Can you imagine how a family of 13 children once lived there?
